The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) has disclosed plans to meet with President Buhari over the dire need to improve the nation’s economy.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Governor of Zamfara State and chairman of the forum, Mr Abdulaziz Yari said, the current economic challenge is one that requires the attention of both the Federal and State governments.
The forum also promised to extend a hand of fellowship to the leaders of the 8th National Assembly in order to boost the socio-economic situation of the country.
Issues concerning security were not left out as the forum discussed at length some of the ways government can improve on the lives of victims from these areas affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
The issues surrounding the sharing of revenues accruing from the Federation account were discussed in the meeting that was held behind closes doors at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.
It is the first time the governors are meeting in 3 years since the emergence of two factional parts of the forum which was caused by huge disagreements.
At least, 23 governors were present at the meeting today.
