The Arewa Youths Forum, AYF, has maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari must be allowed to rule Nigeria for eight years.
Addressing journalist in Abuja, President of the forum, Gambo Gujungu explained that the current tenure belongs to the North and as such the region must be allowed to complete it.
Gujungu warned that the North will not allow the shortening of its tenure.
He insisted that the situation where the Presidency was handed over to another region from the death of the late President Musa Yar’Adua will not be allowed to repeat this time around.
Gujungu also called on governors from the North to standup and defend the region and the President.
According to the organization’s President, the North will nolonger be taken for a “ride.”
He said, “Also I want it on record that youths from the north will not accept what happened during the late Umaru Musa Yar’adua presidency.
“In 2019 the north must complete its 8 years. This region can no longer continue to be taken for a ride, we will never accept that.
“It is time for the Northern Governors to stand up a defend the region and President Buhari. We are not happy with some of them, we want them to be seen protecting the interest of the north.”
